Valdemiro Teixeira: Molde Online magazine interview

"There's no innovation without good communication."

For Valdemiro Teixeira it is essential that people and technology work together, in order to ensure permanent communication, which allows to feed processes and motivate teams. This way, people feel constantly challenged to think in new ways, new ideas and new possibilities. This allows "people to be better prepared to embrace new roles whenever necessary". "Machines don't work alone, they don't create, so you need people who understand the language and take advantage of the technologies," he says. The speed of change is, in his view, increasing. Therefore, the role of people is increasingly important. And the formula for a company to be able to reconcile both things is "betting on communication". Today, he explains, companies look at teams in a more comprehensive way, noting the importance of multidisciplinarity. He exemplifies: "Having a psychologist in one of the teams? Of course they do. Not because he is essential at a technological level, but because he is in a position to help this communication, which you want to be more transversal in a team". And this way of looking at people is, in his perspective, fundamental for the evolution of a company. Even because, he recalls, organisations are made up of several generations of professionals. And it is necessary to manage to reconcile their ways of being and make them walk in the same direction and with the same objective, despite their differences.

"It is fundamental to manage that empirical knowledge and the knowledge of school education to articulate and complement each other", he defends, considering that companies have to manage to bring together, in the same teams, older professionals and young people who have just entered the industry.

As an example, he refers that the company introduced the 'Kaizen' method (continuous improvement process) which, among other issues, has allowed this interconnection between generations. With this, he says, "we speed up the integration, not only of those who arrive, but also of those who are already here".
